Tuamātene is an ancient pā and is a home for all uri of Rangitāne o Wairau. Punatoihi is the name of the puna next to the marae where ancient rituals were conducted. Our wharenui is named Te Pokohiwi o Kupe and the wharekai is named Pokapoka. Tuamātene Marae also has a māra kai.
